Michael Ponder
Michael Ponder earned his B.A. in Spanish from Tulane University in 1998 and went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Southern University Law Center in 2003, earning his Juris Doctorate. Since beginning his career in immigration law in 2005, Mr. Ponder has had the privilege of helping thousands of clients obtain visas, residency, citizenship, asylum, and other immigration benefits.
Mr. Ponder is licensed to practice law in Texas (since 2014) and Louisiana (since 2003, currently inactive). He speaks, reads, and writes Spanish fluently, allowing him to communicate directly and clearly with Spanish-speaking clients.
He is a member of several professional associations including the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association.
Roberto Hernandez
Roberto Hernandez (Bobby) is a paralegal at the Law Offices of Michael Ponder. He works closely with clients to gather documents, prepare filings, and keep cases on track—especially Adjustment of Status, family-based petitions, and naturalization applications. Bobby joined the firm in 2023 after graduating with a BA from Texas State University. Clients appreciate his clear communication and calm, thorough approach.
Miguel Rosciano
Miguel Rosciano is a receptionist at the firm and joined the team while attending The University of Texas at Austin, where he is pursuing a degree in Communication Studies with a focus in Political Communication. Having immigrated to the United States with his family and gone through the immigration process himself, Miguel has a personal connection to the firm’s work and the clients it serves. As a bilingual member of the team, he assists clients in both English and Spanish and strives to make them feel heard, comfortable, and less overwhelmed by the immigration process. He enjoys working directly with clients, learning the legal process, and seeing cases progress toward successful outcomes. After graduating from UT Austin, Miguel plans to attend law school and pursue a career in law.
Juan Garza
Juan has worked as a legal assistant in immigration law since 2017, supporting clients across a wide range of immigration matters with care, precision, and empathy. Throughout his career, he has developed experience navigating complex cases while prioritizing clear communication and a positive client experience.
As the child of parents who immigrated from Mexico, Juan brings a deep personal understanding of the immigration journey and its challenges. This lived experience fuels his passion for advocating for clients and ensuring they feel heard, respected, and supported at every stage of the process.
