What Our $900 Document Review Service Includes
When you hire us for document review, you receive:
A detailed list of every requirement specific to your case type — so you know exactly what USCIS expects
A complete review of every form you've filled out — line by line, page by page
Identification of errors that could disqualify your application — including the small mistakes most people miss
Identification of missing documentation — supporting evidence you may have overlooked
A written summary of findings — clearly listing what to fix and why
This is a limited-scope service. We do not file your case for you. We do not represent you before USCIS. What we do is make sure that what you file is correct. This service is limited to 3 hours of attorney review.
Who This Service Is Built For
Document review is the right choice if you:
Are filing your own immigration application and want a professional safety net before submitting
Have a relatively straightforward case — citizenship through naturalization, family-based green card, work authorization renewal, or similar
Are cost-conscious and can't justify a full retainer
Have already started the process and want to verify your work before sending it in
Want peace of mind that your application won't be rejected over fixable mistakes
USCIS denials over preventable errors that are heartbreaking and expensive. Filing fees aren't refunded. Years of waiting can be lost. A $900 review can prevent thousands of dollars and months of delay.
Who Should NOT Use This Service
We believe in being honest with you about when document review is the right tool — and when it isn't. Do not use this service if any of the following apply to you:
You are facing deportation or removal proceedings
You have a criminal history that may affect your immigration case
You have not yet decided which immigration path applies to you
Your case involves complex issues like waivers, VAWA, asylum, or cancellation of removal
USCIS has previously denied your application
Your case review exceeds 3 hours of attorney time
If any of these describe your situation, you need a full consultation, not document review. Schedule a Paid Consultation here instead.

Why Choose the Law Offices of Michael Ponder for Document Review
Our office has been helping Austin-area immigrants and their families for more than 20 years. When you hire us for document review, you're not handing your file to a paralegal or first-year associate. An experienced immigration attorney reviews your case personally. Most attorneys do not offer this service. But at the Law Offices of Michael Ponder, we believe in helping people of all means and needs. In addition, this is an excellent alternative to big form filling services who will not give your application to a real attorney to review. Or if they do, you will never meet personally with the attorney.
You can choose who handles your review:
Attorney Michael Ponder — practicing immigration law since 2005, licensed in Texas and Louisiana, fluent in Spanish, member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association
Attorney Omar Zavala Soto — over 13 years in immigration law, native Spanish speaker, born in Mexico
Whichever attorney you choose, you receive:
Personal attention from a senior immigration professional
Bilingual service — every member of our team speaks Spanish
179+ five-star Google reviews from clients we've helped
The same care and diligence we bring to our full-representation clients
Frequently Asked Questions
Will document review guarantee my application is approved?
No attorney can ethically guarantee approval of any immigration application. What document review does guarantee is that an experienced immigration attorney has personally reviewed your file and identified the errors and omissions that are within your power to fix. We catch the mistakes before USCIS does.
Can I become a full client after document review?
Yes. Many clients start with document review and later decide to hire us for full representation, particularly if our review reveals their case is more complex than they initially thought. Also, if the three hour time limit is exceeded, we make it easy to transfer to being a full client because we will already have all of your information. The $900 fee is for the review service only. While that fee sometimes is applied toward future retainer fees, the complexity of your case will determine the charge to be a full client.
How is document review different from a paid consultation?
A paid consultation is a one-hour discussion of your situation, your options, and the likelihood of success — best for clients who haven't yet decided their path forward. Document review is for clients who have already chosen their path and need a professional check before filing.
Do you offer this service in Spanish?
Yes. Both Attorney Ponder and Attorney Zavala Soto provide document review in Spanish. Everyone in our law firm speaks Spanish fluently. See link here: Spanish Review.
What types of cases qualify for document review?
Document review works best for straightforward applications: naturalization (N-400), family-based green cards (I-130 and I-485), work authorization (I-765), advance parole (I-131), and similar standalone applications. For complex cases involving waivers, criminal history, removal proceedings, or denied prior applications, we recommend a full consultation instead.
